Festivals

Religious festivals like Ganesh Chaturthi, Dasarah, Ramjan and Christmas are celebrated with fervor in Hyderabad. Shilparamam, a crafts village created by the Tourism Department of Andhra Pradesh celebrates Annual Crafts Festivals in March and December where all the rural handicrafts and arts of Andhra Pradesh and other States in the Country are show-cased. The Tourism Department also organizes Lumbini festival for three days starting from the 2nd week of December at Nagarjuna Sagar and Hyderabad highlighting the Buddha age.

City Tours

AP Travel and Tourism Development Corporation conducts sight seeing tours of the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad daily (Full day tours and half day tours). Starting from Yatri Nivas, SP Road, Secunderabad at 7:45 AM, the bus has several pick-up points for tourists. Ramoji Film City

Spread over 1,800 acres, it is one of the largest, most comprehensive and most professionally planned film production centres in the world. It is designed for a producer to walk in with a script and walk out with a film. Besides its lavish sets, other attractions include many restaurants, hotels, nurseries etc. A must-see, especially for movie buffs, who should set apart a whole day to view the entire film city, preferably with the help of a guide.

Quli Qutub Shahi Tombs

Just next door to the Golconda Fort are the royal cemeteries of the Qutub Shahi kings. The seven tombs are surrounded by beautiful gardens of Ibrahim Bagh. The architecture here is said to be a blend of the Persian, Pathani, and Hindu styles. Incredibly beautiful, with a wistful feel to them. You will be transported to another time and place.
